The SaX developers Team and the INFM-CNR S3 in Modena, Italy, is proud to announce that the SaX optical suite, release 1.0.0 is available at www.sax-project.org.
SaX is an Open source GNU-GPL package for the calculation of electronic excitations, developed at the National Research Center on nanoStructures and bioSystems at Surfaces (S3) of the Italian INFM-CNR. SaX works in the framework of Many Body Perturbation Theory within the GW approximation. Sax calculations will provide the user with: - Full dynamical structure of the Random-Phase-Approximation Polarizability - Quasiparticle energies and wave functions - Different implementations of the GW scheme - Different degree of self-consistency in the GW scheme - Excitonic effects within the Bethe-Salpeter Equation SaX works, in principle, as postprocessing of a previous DFT calculation. In the present version, the package is interfaced with DFT codes of the Quantum-Espresso distribution (www.quantumespresso.org).
