basically davcio reads wfcs splitted according to PW parallelism over different files... all the files should be there, readable, not corrupted, etc etc... problems may arise also in the case of clusters where scratch areas are local to nodes... to have a full description of theproblem just refer to the documentation about errors in davcio given in the manual of pwscf or in the forum archive... andrea
