Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory?s (LLNL) Quantum Simulation Group is looking to fill one or more Postdoctoral Research Positions in the field of electronic structure simulations of materials. The positions are available immediately and renewable for up to 3 years.
We are seeking applicants with a strong background in solid-state physics or chemistry and experience with electronic structure simulation techniques such as Density Functional Theory and Quantum Monte Carlo. Candidates with experience studying nanostructured materials, electron transport in semiconductors, or radiation detector materials are particularly encouraged to apply. The Quantum Simulation Group currently consists of ten Ph.D.'s in condensed matter physics and chemistry. It has extensive collaborations with a broad range of international theoretical and experimental groups. The group makes extensive use of the world leading high performance computational facilities at LLNL.
