I had identical problem ... The reason was the use of Windows "wget" instead of cygwin/Linux "wget" ... Native Windows "wget" does not accept the QE setup script syntax .... Maybe there is similar issue with mac "wget" ? On Windows the solution was to rise the cygwin "wget" preference by path setting ... I have no idea what to do on mac ...
