Hi all,

I'm a centos-user on my x86_64 homepc and I want to buy a laptop for
my study. Our Univerity has a deal with microsoft so we students can
buy a surface rt with win8 for 150€ (about 200USD).
I don't wan't to use win8. Can I install redsleeve on this hardware?
Is the hardware supported? I want to use the touchscreen and the wlan
of course.

If you have to ask, then the answer is almost certainly no.

RedSleeve does not provide hardware specific kernels, except for
the one it ships with, which is for Marvell Kirkwood (Sheeva,
Guru, Dream Plugs). The standard advice is to stick with the
Linux kernel their device ships with (clearly not applicable
in your case).

If the device doesn't ship with Linux, Look at what hardware
Fedora supports - if they have a kernel for the device, you
can use theirs. If they don't, you could look at whether a
different distribution (e.g. Ubuntu) supports it and grab
their kernel related files.

If you are after an ARM based laptop, you would almost certainly
be a lot better off getting one of:
1) Samsung Exynos based Chromebook
2) Toshiba AC100
3) Genesi Efika MX Smartbook
