I have put together a new rootfs tarball. You can get it here:

It is about 400MB compressed and about 1.4GB uncompressed.
This is a full GUI KDE rootfs, including NetworkManager and the
nm-applet so you can use WiFi without manually using wpa_supplicant. I
briefly tested it on the AC100 and the Chromebook and they seem to work
fine.
Please report back if you find anything broken in there. Root password
should be "password".
