So I am going through the screen capture from my firstboot after the step where I used the tarballs to build a bootable SDcard. Here are somethings I hope someone can explain for me:

Welcome to Red Sleeve Enterprise Linux
Starting udev: [ 4.391762] udevd (109): /proc/109/oom_adj is deprecated, please use /proc/109/oom_score_adj instead.
[ OK ]

Is this just an fyi/cya?

modem-manager: (tty/ttyS1): port's parent platform driver is not whitelisted modem-manager: (tty/ttyS2): port's parent platform driver is not whitelisted modem-manager: (tty/ttyS3): port's parent platform driver is not whitelisted modem-manager: (tty/ttyS0): port's parent platform driver is not whitelisted
modem-manager: (net/eth0): port's parent platform driver is not whitelisted

I get these messages every boot, it seems.
I don't see me using the tty/ttyS[1-3}, this was reported on the serial UART console ttyS0
And net/eth0? The ethernet port is working.

Starting nscd: [ OK ]
nscd: 647 invalid persistent database file "/var/db/nscd/passwd": verification failed nscd: 647 invalid persistent database file "/var/db/nscd/group": verification failed nscd: 647 invalid persistent database file "/var/db/nscd/hosts": verification failed nscd: 647 invalid persistent database file "/var/db/nscd/services": verification failed

This occured only on firstboot.

Finally, the kybd/mouse are plugged into a IOgear travel USB hub and I am getting the following message rather regularly:

[47553.274192] hub 4-1:1.0: port 1 disabled by hub (EMI?), re-enabling...

This is both on the serial console (logged in as root) and the video monitor (logged in as user me).

and in /var/log/messages:
