Your original URL was one level down, so I did not catch that. Here is a
simpler way to make the .repo yum file:
cat <<EOF>/etc/yum.repos.d/updates-testing.repo || exit 1
[el6-updates-testing]
name=RSEL 6 Test Updates
baseurl=http://cdn.opensxce.org/redsleeve/el6/updates-testing/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0
EOF
So I am applying all updates needed to my systems. We will see how she
runs. So far bind is working fine...

The repo is already there ...
create /etc/yum.repos.d/updates-testing.repo :
[el6-updates-testing]
name=RSEL 6 Test Updates
baseurl=http://cdn.opensxce.org/redsleeve/el6/updates-testing/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0
And it'll work. There is no need for priorities, the newer version will
make sure it get's installed.
we will only face issues if Gordan rebuilds them with the same version
number. That is not something that'll resolve with priorities or
similar. It will then need a "yum reinstall"

Great, can you make this into a repo that I can add to yum at a higher
priority? That way I will get the needed dependencies right.
I am running 2 DNS servers right now. One is an internal test server,
but the other is my public DNS server.
Everything working so far. I had to relearn chroot, as no selinux
which supposedly provided better protection to bind than chroot does.
Systems are on my desk right now. They will go into the rack this
evening.

Hi Robert,
Please test the bind RPM's from here:
http://cdn.opensxce.org/redsleeve/el6/updates-testing/RPMS/
They build without error, but I have not done any other tests.

On a Centos 6 box running bind I have:
bind-9.8.2-0.23.rc1.el6_5.1.i686
This was installed back on 2014/02/06 (and then it might have been out
for a while).
On RSEL I have:
bind-9.8.2-0.17.rc1.el6.6.armv5tel
Since bind is rather critical in terms of patches, is it possible to
get this updated.
Even if I was ready with a system to do this on, I have never
maintained rpms and would have a long start up time.
thanks.
