I've finally (don't ask) managed to get a machine up and running with
RedSleeve 7, and I have to say I am impressed with the superb work Jacco
has put in. Once the kernel firmware issue was finally defeated I still
haven't managed to find anything obvious missing or broken. The latter,
in particular, is very high praise coming from me (I seem to have a
sledgehammer-like effect on most software).
So Jacco - well done! To say this is impressive is a major
understatement. :-)
Tomorrow I'll take a look at the redsleeve-logo package and see if there
is enough in the old one to replace all the obvious CentOS branding. If
there is, we could have an alpha launch tomorrow, and a beta launch as
soon as you confirm that your build pass is complete and I can sign them
all (need to cook up the keys, and re-sign EL6 packages while I'm at
it).
