Hi Mark, The images are meant as a minimal set to get your device up and running. This sort of implies that they do not change that often. So yes, the image you refer to is the latest image for redsleeve6/rpi2.
The v2 images are actually for rpi1. They were updated recently due to a request to include wifi tooling. (I forgot that rpi version A does not have an ethernet interface) In all cases, doing a 'yum update' after install is recommended to get your system updated to today. Personally all my systems are by now updated to redsleeve7. (and I also use them for home automation) For the end result it should not matter much if you go with version 6 or 7. That being said, I find that it gets increasingly hard to keep supporting version 6. I'm not in favor of adding stuff that's not strictly necessary in the images. I you like nano better than vi, just type "yum install nano" and it should work.
