Maybe try building on a QEMU system?

Should I try on a Windows 7 64-bit with QEMU?

The main problem is availability of ARM emulations and kernels
for those emulations. The versatile emulation is good, I have
it working here on my x86 laptop, but it is limited to only
256MB of RAM which makes it pretty useless for big compile jobs.

If you have kernel that works with an emulation that can map
a large amount of RAM and you get it working, please, do post
a howto.

Is it OK to emulate using Cortex A9 (Armv7) CPU ?
(I assume so, ie. my Raspberry PI 2 is a ARMv7 :) )
QEMU can run with 512+ RAM on that
