I am busy building RSEL 6.8 One of the things that surprised me is that gcc now builds without any patches. Question: can you recall if the two changes that are there (triplet patch and libgcc_s.so symlink fix) were needed for building or for proper operation of gcc? In other words, do you think it is save to skip the patches ?
