Hi Gordan,
I have the impression that mirrorservice
(http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.redsleeve.org/pub/el7-devel/el7/)
is not syncing any more.
any idea what's going on?
Not off the top of my head. The permissions and availability look
good
on the primary server. What do you perceive to be missing?
I did just notice that I had a whole bunch of stuck rsync processes
trying to pull down from your server, though. Everything OK on that
side?
On my side everything OK, I think. As I moved a lot of stuff around,
there was a huge amount of data to sync. I noticed indeed many rsync
sessions disconnecting before finishing. But every time a new one came
along, to work on the remaining data. As far as I am aware
ftp.redsleeve.org is now in sync.
What I see at mirrorservice (for instance):
no "updates" dir under
http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/ftp.redsleeve.org/pub/el7-devel/el7/7.2/
but there is still the "new" dir which should not any longer be there.
Also all timestamps are in December 2015.
at nluug.nl I also notice some discrepancies. Most goes well, but the
raspberry kernels version 4.4.21.* are missing from
http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/redsleeve/el7-devel/el7/raspberrypi/RPMS/
(same for SRPMS) which is strange because the directories themselves
have the right timestamp. Also the repodata is empty here.
The latest rootfs-es are missing from
http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/redsleeve/el7-devel/el7/rootfs/
update: ftp.nluug.nl seems now to be fully in sync. It was just very
slow to come into sync (weeks)
www.mirrorservice.org is still not syncing. The latest items I can find
on their site are from 2016-08-16. Somewhere between that date and now
the syncing stopped.
It is quite plausible that the problem is my connection being flakey.
I have recently had no fewer than 2 faults fixed on the line, and am
still awaiting for the resolution on the 3rd one. At the moment, the
connection doesn't stay up for more than 5-10 minutes before the PPP
tunnel over DSL drops, and resets all the connections with it.
I am hoping that this will be resolved within the next week. Until
then the connectivity to the primary server is going to continue
being very poor which is also affecting the syncing from the
mirrors.
Gordan
