Seems to be working for at least some plugins (mpg123 and streamripper). I'll take my chances as I'm travelling and aren't carrying hardware for fast and easy builds.
Your warning is beside the point for the missing libcdio for EL6. Not sure if the libsidplay vs libsidplayfp has anything to do with the platform, but at first sight this seems to be a SPEC issue.
