Error loading login page

I have been using roundcube for a while now and all has been well. I just updated my server and now I am getting the message. Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_set_save_handler() in /home/familychat/roundcube/program/include/session.inc on line 152 PHP was upgraded, but I didn't change anything. Any help on this would be great.
