I'm wondering if anyone has developed end-user text documentation
and/or screen captures that explain using RoundCube.
Or do you have something you've been working on? Maybe we could
collaborate?
Someone started a documentation effort, and info was posted to the
devel list last April 14th.
It was posted as a GoogleDoc, with limited access.
Thanks for the tip. I found that in my archive and sent an email to
Kevin to get access.
I'm not sure if anything happened since, I haven't seen it posted on
the RoundCube web site.
I contributed a generic version of my documentation to that effort,
which included screen shots.
I posted it to the devel list last Feb 26th. I'm not sure if you can
access the list archives from the web, I couldn't find links on the
RoundCube web site. I keep list messages local on my system for
reference.
Couldn't find that. My archive goes back to Feb. 26 and saw two posts
from you about and XSS related issue, but not documentation.
I can share my OpenOffice document with you, however it is based on an
older release of RoundCube. I haven't updated my installation to the
latest RC, so I have not needed to update my documentation.
( I have modified my internal-only documentation since February to fix
typos and other small errors. I have not migrated those changes back
to the generic document. )
Send on through whatever you'd like to pass through... I'm going to
merge together the different responses that I'm receiving and will post
back any notes or docs to the list as things develop.
I provide each user with a printed copy of the documentation _before_
they access RoundCube, so they are familiar with it from the start.
The documentation is how they get the URL and authentication info, so
they can't use it unless they have the documentation.
In this situation the user community is very large and all online... and
as with the average user most of them don't spend much time reading.
Screenshots and captions are the direction we are heading, with some
complementing text that elaborates as needed.
Getting users to read by requiring they read print docs to get their
login information sounds great if its possible. :)
