I've been testing it with a single account with a folder of 13k emails (forwarded from a gmail account), and it runs considerably slower than gmail (at least showing the list of emails, or going to "next page" of emails, it can take up to 5 seconds or more).
The other folders (with about 1k emails max) are shown almost instantly, so i could guess RoundCube does not scale well with the number of emails per folder. Please note that i've been using roundcube for only 2 days, so i may have missed something.
