Yes, it DOES work with open_basedir. Doing this on my servers since version
0.2

Roundcube needs PEAR so be sure to include the php libraries into the
open_basedir path. E.g.: /usr/lib/php.
You also have to watch out for sessions, if they're written to /tmp, you
also need to include this path to the open_basedir value.
