Yes, it is very strange that people do not feel the need for an advanced search
to search for messages, for example, in a time period or combination of fields
of search as the sender or recipient or subject at the same time or in all
folders.
I tried to find a solution or a plugin but I found nothing of interest.

I just installed it out of curiosity and tested it.
In the search a new option "All Folders" appears which can be selected for the
search.
The search itself runs and also finds amount of messages in all folders, but
they're not displayed in the main/message window.

As you've already seen it, that 'plugin' doesn't seem to be maintained.
Not working + not maintained = dead
