I suggest a sieve plugin, more than a vacation specific plugin.
We use sieverules
(https://github.com/JohnDoh/Roundcube-Plugin-SieveRules-Managesieve) and
works well.
I'm not sure if you can fix a start and stop date for the vacation
message (maybe in last versions), but with sieve you can always define a
rule and decide to apply vacation message only if the date of the
message is between the two dates you want. Not perfect as the date of
the message is taken (afaik) from sender computer.
