Yes, I can see that a process terminates unexpectedly. I am trying to

Errors like the one I reported only occur in combination with Roundcube
so far, so I asked how to better debug this. I am not trying to pass
blame. I'd be happy if it was just me having messed up some settings or
suchlike. That would make things much easier.

I did not. Gentoo masks dev-php/suhosin for all PHP versions > 5.3, and
Suhosin is not installed here. That I verified, and I do not know why
Roundcube reports otherwise. Incidentally, the Roundcube installer lists
suhosin.session.encrypt in a section "The following settings are required
to run Roundcube".

As stated in my original mail, PHP 5.5.12 on Gentoo Linux (with a Kernel
3.14.3 to be precise, I can list specific library versions on request).

The only active extension seems to be Zend OPcache v7.0.4-dev, at least
from what I can see.
