Hello,
IMAP doesn't delete messages just mark them as deleted - so they stay
in your mailbox and may be invisible for you. Next step should be
expunge deleted messages - after that action messages really dismiss
from mailbox.
Take a look at Settings -> Preferences -> Server settings -> Main
options. There are two checkboxes about this issue:
* "Flag the message for deletion instead of delete" - I recommend
set it off. It will really delete after your delete action
immediately.
* "Do not show deleted messages" - doesn't matter if you set
previous setting off ;)
