I updated my system fine _using_ apt so the first question is, where
is this apt coming from ? Certainly not from RPMforge.
Please pardon my ignorance: today I am greeted with the message,
"UPDATES AVAILABLE: There are 183 package updates available." This
message comes from the Package Updater widget/applet/thingy in the gnome
system tray.
I usually use apt, but that's not *my* question: if I apply these
updates, will my system become CentOS 5.3, or is this an artifact of a
different series of changes that have finally trickled down?
Sorry if this is an FAQ; so many Linux Distros, so little time.
