Hi,
I have updated a few media packages the past few days and the results
should become available tomorrow. The good news is that it brings a newer
mplayer, vlc, xine-lib, x264.
But these changes also impact a lot of other packages.
The bad news is that vlc is still at 0.9.9a, vlc 1.0.0 will not be
possible for RHEL5 because QT is slightly too old.
The mplayer we ship is the latest release (which still dates back to
2007). A newer mplayer snapshot is still possible, but I don't track
development and usually I prefer a release over a snapshot.
The other bad news is that both k3b-extras and cinelerra for RHEL5 are now
broken. They both fail to build against the newer ffmpeg and I can't find
a proper fix for both. For k3b-extras I could disable ffmpeg, with loss of
functionality of course :-/ I prefer a fix.
Anyone willing to investigate can find the buildlog files in:
http://packages.sw.be/k3b-extras/_buildlogs/
http://packages.sw.be/cinelerra/_buildlogs/
Kind regards,
