Did you try to find the project page of the versions-maven-plugin[1]?
On the mainpage of this plugin (as for almost every plugin at Codehaus
Mojo and Apache Maven) there's a paragraph 'Usage', which refers to the
FAQ of the plugin, a mail archive and a reference to the users mailing
list.
