I haven't used it at all, unfortunately.  I forgot to mention the 
changelog plugin property for subversion to Tim --

maven.changelog.factory = org.apache.maven.svnlib.SvnChangeLogFactory
You probably already found that by now, though.  I'll let you know if I 
find anything out on the scm plugin.
