In the plugins directory, I have
maven-xdoclet-plugin-1.2.2-SNAPSHOT.jar. I do not know
where I got it. Of course, all the other plugins are
not SNAPSHOT. In
http://xdoclet.sourceforge.net/repository/xdoclet/plugins/
there is only 1.2.1. Is that the right version?
Should I change the file name in my plugins directory
to maven-xdoclet-plugin-1.2.2.jar so it does not get
dowloaded every time?

The snapshot error is worrisome.. double check that
the version of
xdoclet
used by the plugin in
MAVEN_HOME\cache\maven-xdoclet-plugin\project.xml
isn't marked as SNAPSHOT.
If it is, where did you get this plugin, from the
download at
xdoclet.sf.net?
