I quickly looked at the Doxia code (by decompiling it), and the DocBook parser has a parseXDoc operation that is being invoked. Internally, it is looking for all sorts of non-DocBook tags, like 'li' instead of 'listitem' etc. I'd be happy to make some adjustments if somebody is able to give me the location of the Doxia sources, and give me a clue how the maven-site-plugin figures out where to find the DocBook files.
