That's correct. I've added this functionality to my local working copy,
and will commit it as soon as I've verified that it doesn't break the build.

What I'm adding is a <properties/> section directly inside the
<project/> element. You will then have the ability to reference these
properties within the POM by using ${property-name} in your plugin
configurations, etc.

That should be in within an hour or so. I got sidetracked, or I would've
had it checked in earlier (last week). :)
