in the same line with stephen, you can settup mirror in your settings.xml

      <id>your-repo</id>

      <mirrorOf>central</mirrorOf>
    </mirror>
   <mirror>
      <id>your-plugin-repo</id>
      <name>maven-proxy</name>
      <url>http://your-internal-repo</url>
      <mirrorOf>central-plugins</mirrorOf>
    </mirror>
  </mirrors>

The main idea here is to route to default repos to your own internal repos
