Raja,

My experience comes from Java projects.

If you have the choice, go with Maven 2. Currently it is sometimes a
little bit difficult to find detailed documentation or examples for
Maven 2, but I am sure this will improve over the time and in the near
future. And the mailing list is very helpful and friendly, in one word
professional.

I used Maven 1 over two years and recently made the move to Maven 2. I
am still struggling getting everything to work as I am used to see it
from Maven 2, but this is just a learning process I have to go through.

Regarding "future proof": I believe Maven 2 is the future.

Andreas

Subject: Maven experts! Maven1.x vs Maven2.x

Attention all maven implementers

Which is better? Maven 1.x OR Maven 2.x

I found that most of the plugin support is for maven 1.x thru the
following

But my current project needs to be future proof,...i mean we will
implement
for a .net project tooo
