I believe many plugins started their life on Codehaus as
user-contributed plugins and were eventually deemed "important" enough
that the Maven team decided to take over development themselves and
incorporate them into the official Maven "product".

But this transition takes time and so not all of the plugins have
received an official build from the Maven team yet.

So in all likelihood (I don't use it myself so I can't say for sure)
this is the same plugin. At some point, the m-c-p version will
probably get new features and bug fixes etc, while the codehaus
version is "frozen" from a development perspective.
