Very cool. Well, with that hard part done, there won't be anything from Archy worth reusing, but I'll be happy to take a stab at patching the archetype plugin when the search is ready. Will it be announced on this list?

The repository manager in Maven SVN indexes any repository, so it's a simple Lucene query of: "type:maven-archetype" If we put an appropriate web front end on that, you could pull down an up to date list at any time.
