Well, it appears to be a non reproducible bug.  I has this all day
yesterday, then I came in today and its gone.  I've had some strange
behavior from my environment and roaming profiles, but I don't think that
would affect cygwin would it?

I've been using Maven on Cygwin with no problems for a while. The errors
in line 17 and 20 (blank lines) seem to indicate a line ending problem,
are you sure your "mvn" script is using Unix delimiters?
