As (nearly) always, if artifacts are not available in Maven repo, blame the vendor. ;-)
But seriously, if enough customers of JBoss/Hibernate ask for Maven support, eventually it will become part of their normal release cycle. At that point, the latest and greatest hibernate jars will (should) always appear in the Maven repo whenever a new release is produced.
