Online documentation seems to say we can use archetype:generate to select archetypes from a list of known archetypes. My problem is that maven complains it cant find the generate goal for the archetype plugin. This is an example of the error I got. I cleared out my archetype plugins under ~/.m2 to be sure it was using the newest version.
Any ideas what might be causing this? :$ mvn archetype:generate [INFO] Scanning for projects... [INFO] Searching repository for plugin with prefix: 'archetype'.
