Hi

I had this problem a few times. Its definitely a jdk problem.
check your mvn -version , verify it takes the right java home.

C:\Documents and Settings\rkournja>mvn -version
Maven version: 2.0.9
Java version: 1.5.0_18
OS name: "windows xp" version: "5.1" arch: "x86" Family: "windows"

C:\Documents and Settings\rkournja>ECHO %JAVA_HOME%
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_18
