ok...
so in short i could not get mbuni installed on FreeBSD *lack of patience*
kannel was installed from /usr/ports/ and had no problem there, but
could not get mbuni-1.0.0 installed from source and/or compiled on FreeBSD
so to get a workaround it... i did the following
-- installed linux_base-rh-9 from the ports [/usr/ports/emulators/]
-- downloaded libxml2-2.5.4-1.i386.rpm
-- added line in /etc/rc.conf
linux_enable="YES"
-- *reboot*
-- made sure linux.ko is loaded with kldstat
installed the libxml2 [# rpm -i --ignoreos --root /compat/linux --dbpath
/var/lib/rpm /dir/to/libxml2-2.5.4-1.i386.rpm]
installed mbuni [# rpm -i --ignoreos --root /compat/linux --dbpath
/var/lib/rpm /dir/to/mbuni-1.0.0.rpm]
and it installed.... TADA!
so now config starts ;)
