Yes, I can. But in order to get higher performance, I don't want the
computer spend time on those messages that it won't process.

So, Do you think I can block the message inside ProtocolCodecFilter?

Does your network packet mean logical packet (or message)?
If yes, I think you'd better ignore it in *messageReceived* or the the
handler of your packet.
