We're planning to use Mina as the core for a fairly mission-critical
server application we're building, and I'm trying to decide which
version of Mina we should base it on.
Since 1.1 is the stable version, my first instinct would be to choose
that. However, I see that the 2.0 version has some important
improvements in it - with several of them re: important capabilities
like buffer allocation, threading, and such.
In addition, it looks like the 2.0 version is very close to release
candidate status, which makes me wonder if it'd be a bad idea to launch
a new development effort based on 1.x.
So thought I'd ask some of the folks here who have more expertise what
they'd recommend. Is there any current estimate when the 2.0 version is
expected to be released? How stable/performant is the 2.0 version right
now? Would you recommend basing a new development on it? And if not,
how hard is it to upgrade one's code later to use it?
Thanks,
DR
