How to get socket exception from ConnectFuture [1.1.7]

Hi all,
I am new to MINA, and using 1.1.7. I find the only way I can get the
exception for a failed connection attempt is invoking getSession. but it
only throws runtime exception, which can't tell what exactly goes wrong with
the socket.

I see a new method getException added in the trunk. Any way I can get a
socket exception in 1.1.7?
