Well, for us, it's easy to discard a JIRA which is not a bug, so if you
really want to have a follow up, then it's better.
In fact, the best is probably to push first a mail on the ML, and if you
get no answer, then create a JIRA, unless it's an obvious bug.
There is nothing wrong about adding JIRAs, assuming that it's not a
duplicate, it's just that when it comes to release a new version, we
don't pop up the mailing list (too many of them) we just browse the
opened JIRAs. It's just about picking the right media then.

Now back to the problem :)
