Apache SSHD and SFTP question

Hi:

I am new to Apache SSHD and wanted to try it out. I downloaded the 
binary distribution and ran the SSHD server using the batch file.
When I try to connect using "sftp" client I get following error:
"Request for subsystem 'sftp' failed on channel 0'

Am I missing something?

Is there any example/sample code that I can run with SFTP subsystem enabled?
