Sorry,

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_22-b04)

Thanks. I would advise you to upgrade to MINA 2.0.4, and to Java
1.6.0_26. Not that it would solve your issue, but Java 1.6.0_22 is known
to have issues with NIO.
Now, regarding your issue, it's difficult to tell what could be wrong.
What would help is a bit more description of what's going on when you
detect taht the server does not accept incoming connections. Like, for
instance, do you have a firewall in front of your server ? How many
concurrent clients do you have ? What's the number of incoming
connection you are processing per second. Is it something you can
reproduce, or is it totally random ? How many sockets are opened when
you detect the problem (incidentally, do you have a low ulimit setting ?)
