This is UDP : don't expect the framework to 'wait' when the underlying protocol has been specifically designed for a minimal interection with the server.
If your client needs to receive some response from the server, you have to code this part yourself. Also not that even if you have used TCP, with MINA, you would still have to wait for the response from the server, due to the non-blocking nature of NIO.
