Actually I have 2 listeners running on different ports. One for SSL traffic and 
other one for non-SSL traffic. I have enabled the wireshark logging of both the 
ports today and will get the data by end of day. It was my assumption that 
since the data was not properly readable it could be due to SSL not decrypting 
the data properly, but I might be wrong. The wireshark output should make 
things much clear.

I would assume that your application is working well without the SSLFilter.

Otherwise, yes, the SSL Filter is working properly.

The question is : are you using it properly ?

We need more than just the few bytes you pushed. Can you provide a full 
wireshark dump ?
