I'm able to saturate a 10Mb/s network with more than 20 000 messages per second on my computer on my LDAP server using MINA. One of the possible reasons : the server IoHandler is doing weird things (like waiting for an external resource before releasing the thread). Typical use case : sendinhg the received data to a remote data base. So bottom line : what do you do on the server side with the data you receive ?
