The very nature of anti-virus make it intrinsically slow : it has to read the whole file, searching for patterns it knows about (thousands of them !). It's not only disk intensive, it's also CPU costly. In any case, there is little we can do here. Well, 'little' means 'nothing' in this context... But I guess your question was more targeting people who have already gone through this kind of situation, and it's more about using the MINA mailing list as a proxy :-) I hope you'll find someone that was hit by this issue.
