When we switched to MyFaces from Sun's RI with Struts-Tiles integration lib, we 
came to (not so definite) conclusion that the switch improved performance. The 
result wasn't too clear because we didn't have good average render results per 
page and there were a lot code changes done meanwhile. And we were and are more 
or less okay with the performance we get out of it so far.
