This issue should be fixed in 1.0.8. Existing temp files will not be deleted but myfaces should not leave new temp files anymore. So please clean up your temp dir and check out if it remains clean. Otherwise please submit a bug.

A very quick search through the source code did not find a reference to the attribute "javax.servlet.context.tempdir".
